Job Summary: The primary job function is to inspect a variety of injection molded product and report findings in written and verbal form. This position is considered non-exempt from the overtime provision of the FLSA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Complete walk thru at start of shift with shift supervisor, lead operator, and shift that is completing to check product and discuss any problems.
-Collect appropriate samples for inspection as per control plan or MQIP do visual and dimensional inspections are required. Complete SPC when required. Check and record lot number daily.
-Select appropriate gages and equipment as per control plan or MQIP for inspections
-Inspect all items identified for the Quality Inspector on the applicable control plan and visually inspect all aspects of product to assure compliance with customer specification
-Report any nonconformance immediately to shift supervisor MQIP – reject any dimensions or specifications that does not meet the print and record on Rejection Tag. Move rejected product to the quarantine cage.
-Write MCAR’s on nonconformances, flash when it has reached 75% of the allowed tolerance and/or any other dimensional or visual defects
-Complete all required paperwork throughout the shift in legible manner
-Accept or reject product in accordance with Atlas Precision SOP’s
-Work with machine operator or lead operator on visual quality issues and do constant visual inspections throughout the shift
-Neatly file all completed paperwork in correct area.
-Complete start up procedures, compare the part to print, record the revision level and compare to shop order, check material is correct to print and record lot number.
-File start up and shutdown shots when the order is complete. Maintain the retain room in numerical sequence as provided grouped per customer.
-File Operational Manuals when order is complete. File any signed master samples. Remove any work instructions, downtime logs or process cards from the board at the press and file in Operational Manual.
-Maintain a clean and orderly work area and clean and orderly lab
-Complete all work in a safe manner and in accordance with Atlas Precision procedures
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
-May assist in production as deemed necessary: maintain all operations on assigned machines. Empty product bins, sort, inspect, check cavitations, pack and weigh by using Average Piece Weight or APW, notify Process Technician of alarms, and pack product according to the packing instructions
-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Quality Manager

-Ability to match product to color chips to Master Color Standards for obvious discrepancies
-Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
