Atlas Precision, Inc is a Plastic Injection Molding and Tooling company located in South Asheville. We’re seeking a Quality Engineer to work in our Plastics division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
Assist Quality manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
Work with Continuous Improvement Coordinator on activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
Develop training to build quality awareness.
Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor and track timing, execution and implementation of customer PPAPs
Develop and maintain Control Plans and PFMEAs as needed
Administer internal APQP program
Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
Ensure timely resolution of supplier and internal failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct internal audits.
Have ability to measure and apply geometric tolerance to high precision parts.
Preparation of QA reports for use in business making decisions.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Manager.
May be required to substitute for inspectors and final auditor on vacation as needed.

Minimum 3 years in Automotive Industry
Must be able to work standing for a 100% of the workday.
Must be able to lift and maneuver 40 pounds.
Must possess the ability to take and follow verbal instructions
Must be able to read blueprints
Must understand geometric tolerance and positional measurements
Must be able to use basic measuring tools related to quality control
Must be able to measure accurately and record accurately
Must be able to inspect on production floor as needed
Must have basic computer skills
Ability to work in a team environment with a minimum of direct supervision.
Ability to interpret written instructions, such as PALI Sheets.
Ability to interpret customer specifications
Ability to record information in legible understandable sequence.
Ability to effectively communicate findings to others.
Ability to use pin gages and microscope.
Ability to match product to color chips or Master Color Standards to check for obvious color defects.
